CSL (Cochin Shipyard Limited) will be the owner for making passenger-cargo vessels under ‘Make in India’ initiative, which is approved by the Government of India for the Andaman and Nicobar islands. CSL will build 4 vessels, where 2 of medium sized and 2 huge.

According to the information, 2 vessels will contain 500 people along with 150 tons of goods can be carried. The other 2 vessels will fit 1200 people with 1000 tons of good can be carried. Keeping security and comfort level of people and safety of products this vessels will follow the nation & international standards.

These vessels will operated all season and will service inter-island. CLS has already started to build these vessels and according to the contract they will have to make it ready by or before 2020.

There is no blueprint available for the vessel right now, but we are expecting to more information about the same in coming year.
