Haven’t we all been in those situations where we get anxious whenever someone picks up our phone to have a look? Be it private photos, videos, apps or settings. We all like to keep some things hidden from people, and sometimes merely employing a screen lock isn’t enough. Situations like these warrant extreme measures or rather a simple app named AppLock. Here you can get details of Applock Review.
AppLock as the name suggests is a very straightforward approach. It locks apps. But in addition it also locks out select features and settings. These include, calls, wifi, Bluetooth, Gallery, Mobile Data, Installing / Uninstalling apps etc.
Locking select features and apps can be customized to a great extent. The user can create Lock Profiles specifically made for situations where the phone might be handled by a guest or a child or by the user themselves. The premium version can activate these profiles automatically at specific times or based on location, utilizing GPS tracking.

Installing the app for the first time, the user is accosted with the request to setup a PIN. On setting the same the user is granted access to the app. The top of the homescreen has 2 tabs, Privacy and Protect. Under the privacy tab (open by default) is present a list of apps and settings that the user can choose to lock manually, or select all. Above the list are the following options :
At the bottom of the page are options to save a custom lock profile or select one from the list of existing profiles.
The 2nd tab called Protect provides the user the basic settings for AppLock Viz. the unlock settings, advanced security features, security question (in case PIN or pattern is forgotten) etc. Under unlock settings, the user can set either of a numeric passcode or a Pattern lock. However, bear in mind the app supports only 1 Master lock for all apps and settings. Which disappointed us. Moreover, locking the entire device was also not present among the options.
Under the same tab is the option to setup contingency measures in case the passcode is forgotten are present. First, a security question and Second under “Advanced Protection” the option to send the passcode to the designated email address. This feature also prevents users from deleting AppLock from the device without a password.
AppLock also provides support for themes as well as customization for the lock screen with images from the user’s image gallery. However, to access themes and advanced protection features, additional modules must be downloaded. Additional features of AppLock include Quick Lock widget, a shortcut of which can be placed on the notification bar. Premium version unlocks several features like Fake covers, Random Keyboard and the option to hide AppLock from the list of apps installed.
AppLock does exactly what is expected from it, efficiently and effectively. For users who require a fuss free experience this is a great app which delivers the goods that too in a small package. The app being light has little impact on battery life and memory resources. However, certain small disappointments like the confusing interface and separate locks for separate apps might sour the taste for some users. Overall, it’s a must have for one and all.
