After today’s launch of the ASUS Zenfone Max Pro (M1), it has become so clear that the Redmi Note 5 Pro has received a clear beat in terms of Price & Specifications or it’s better to say Price-to-performance ratio. The ASUS M1 loads almost the same specifications as the Redimi Note 5 Pro that contains the Snapdragon 636 & 4GB RAM (Also comes with a 3GB RAM variant & a 6GB RAM variant that’ll arrive later on), but a slight difference in camera. But, what makes the biggest difference, is the price & availability of the Zenfone Max Pro.
There are two major reasons why the ASUS Zenfone Max Pro takes over the Redmi Note 5 Pro & these two reasons are the strongest ones.
Reason 1: One of the smartest move made by ASUS this time was to keep the pricing perfectly on the spot that people were looking for. Talking about Redmi Note 5 Pro (4GB RAM, 64GB Storage variant), where it costs 13,999 INR, the Zenfone Max Pro (M1) costs 12,999 INR for the exact same 4GB RAM & 64GB Internal Storage, which is clearly win over the Note 5 Pro in terms of pricing.
The Zenfone Max Pro also has the higher end 6GB RAM variant which is arriving later & it has been priced at 14999 INR which is just 1000 INR higher that the 4GB RAM variant of the RN5 Pro & 2000 INR lower than the 6GB RAM variant of the RN5 Pro.
Reason 2: One think that people loved as well as hated about the Redmi Note 5 Pro was the Flash sale. This becomes one of the key element for ASUS as they are keeping this smartphone for an open sale on Flipkart starting 3rd May, 2018.

The price difference to be particular, makes the Zenfone Max Pro, a way better value & that’s why there are chances that, many people will opt to buy the Zenfone Max Pro over the Redmi Note 5 Pro until a higher-res Selfie is what they are looking for. However, the 6GB RAM variant of the Zenfone Max Pro (M1) spots an 16MP Front Facing Camera which minimizes the reasons for Xiaomi to justify their price.
So, having all these advantages in hand, ASUS definitely seems to have a winner here. If Xiaomi wants to fight back, they need to stop flash sales & lower the prices at least to the exact same level of the Zenfone Max Pro. Otherwise we can see the Redmi Note 5 Pro castle, falling down in front of the Zenfone Max Pro (M1) storm.
