How to Disable Avast Antivirus in Windows 7, 8 & 10


We cannot install some programs (like drivers, video programs and some other important applications) on our pc successfully, the reason behind this is Antivirus software. So when you are facing any problem while installing software, you have to disable the antivirus software temporarily. If you are using Avast Antivirus then you can follow these steps for how to disable Avast antivirus in windows 7,8 &10.

Disabling Avast from system


Click on the up arrow icon on the windows taskbar to show the hidden icon, and there you find the Avast Antivirus icon. Right-click on Avast Antivirus for the list of options. There you find Avast User Interface, Avast shields control, Silent Mode, Virus chest. There you click on the Avast shields control.


Click on Avast Shields Control, where you find how long you can disable the Avast Antivirus. There you can select the option to disable for 10 mins or for 1 hour or until the computer is restarted or disable permanently.


After selecting the option you will be prompted to confirm the option you choose to disable the Antivirus. Click on the ok button for confirmation.

Disabling Avast from settings


Click on the Avast icon which is in orange color with a lowercase alphabet “a”.Then you click on Menu which is located in the top right corner.


Click on the settings, it displays the settings menu


In the settings menu click on Protection*(which is highlighted in the red box) the second option on the top left of the panel. This displays the protection menu.


Click Core Shields which is highlighted in the red box. It displays the settings menu of the Core Shields to block the virus in real-time


Click on the  Core Shields toggle switch which is at the top of the page. After clicking oh that it automatically disables all shields that provide protection to antivirus.
