New Camera Update Added Portrait Mode And Reduced JPEG Compression: The Essential Phone has been praised for it’s exceptional design language but, the main issue was with it’s Camera. All the reports suggested that the Camera wasn’t good enough & wasn’t ready to compete any of the top of the line flagships. Well, that fact is still true & the Camera still isn’t gotten that much better to fulfill the user expectations but, it seems like that Essential is at least trying to make their Camera better.

The latest update for Essential Phone enabled Portrait Mode using the Dual Rear Facing Cameras & they also claim that they have made some improvements including Reduced JPEG compression for better quality.

We don’t have the Essential Phone but, as some of our sources claim that the Camera is better compared to the what it was before the update but, it still isn’t as good as the others. The Google Cam is still giving better results on the same device. So, maybe the stock camera app will get further improvements with in the future but, we’ll see how much they can improve.
