You’re at home and your garage door opener suddenly stops working, so you walk over to it and lift the handle in an attempt to fix it, but the door still won’t open. You think you might need to replace the batteries, so you go inside and get them changed, but it’s still not working. You begin to realize that you might have bigger problems with your garage door opener than just needing new batteries – how will you reset it? Here’s how to easily reset your Chamberlain garage door opener.
How To Easily Reset Your Chamberlain Garage Door Opener
1.) Unplug your opener
The first thing you’ll need to do is unplug your opener from the power outlet. Once it’s unplugged, you should see a red light on the back of the unit.
This indicates that the opener is in standby mode. Press and hold the learn button on the back of the unit for six seconds. The learn button is located just above the red light. After six seconds, the red light will begin to blink. This means that the opener is ready to learn a new code. If this isn’t done within 30 minutes, the opener will revert back to factory settings.
Next, enter your four-digit access code into the keypad on the front of the unit. After doing so, you should hear two beeps from inside the garage door opener housing. If you don’t hear two beeps or if you hear an error tone instead, please check to make sure that all wires are plugged in properly at both ends before pressing any buttons again.
If everything is correct, try using a different four-digit code. Keep trying until you get two beeps. It may take up to 10 tries before you find the right combination.
