2017 is the year where IoT is expanding in a large increase rate. We are getting more & more IoT devices that are helping us to to stay smart & stay connected. To take the approach even further, Huawei signed an agreement with Nextek & Quectel to expand IoT applications in the Middle East region & generate more more Smart City titles.
Nextek Solutions is a global IT & software provider and integrator and Quectel is a leading supplier of wireless modules. They will reportedly collaborate with Huawei for smart city integrations in the Middle East & later Worldwide.
Su Wang the Vice President of Marketing for Huawei Middle East said,
“Huawei believes that the key to driving Smart City development in the region is to create an ecosystem of partners and vendors working together to co-create solutions that precisely target the needs of their respective vertical sector…..
We are eager to work with partners like Nextek and Quectel to drive IoT development and commercialization in the region. Through joint investments and collaboration between manufacturers, operators, ICT providers, application software developers, research institutes, and even governments, the pace of growth of IoT will keep accelerating.”
In order to accelerate the development of the IoT industry and also to enrich the ecosystem, Huawei has its Hosting Center that serves as a secure platform for operators in the region in he form of Huawei’s OpenLab that is situated in Dubai. It provides a platform to the Regional Partners to test and customize a variety of technologies that can be used for sectors like Public Safety, Smart Cities, Transportation, Education, Oil & Gas and more.
