Motorola’s Droid Series of Smartphones (Ultra, Mini and Maxx) have been around for a few years now, and have enjoyed a fair amount of success. Along with their budget line-up of Moto E, Moto G and Moto X. With the summer of 2015 approaching fast it was only expected that a fresh set of phones take center stage. However, what have set rumour mills ablaze is a set of leaks by Reddit user “AndroidLeaks” who posted specific spec sheets of 3 phones with model numbers Motorola XT1578, XT1585, and XT192A. Discovered from the “Analytics System” and said to be operating over the US based carrier Verizon Wireless around the Chicago area (where Motorola HQ is located).
Said to be part of Verizon’s new Motorola Droid line-up that replaces the existing Ultra, Mini and Maxx smartphones. Motorola XT1578, XT1585, and XT192A are all equipped with the latest Android 5.1.1 Operating System, but the real talking point is the Quad HD or 2K resolution displays. Possibly 1440×2368 pixel resolution. In addition Motorola XT1585 and XT192A sport pixel densities of 640 ppi with display size pegged at 5 inches. While the Motorola XT1578 has the same at 560 ppi indicating a larger screen size.
Although these are still unconfirmed reports, certain sections of the media believe these could be the next generation Moto E, Moto G and Moto X smartphones. Given Moto X 2014’s anniversary is just round the corner.
