Everybody Needs a Secure Phone Before They Get Hacked

The public is growing wary of digital security risks posed by viruses and hackers, and yet they are reluctant to take meaningful action to safeguard their cellphones. Most will admit they care about their privacy; however, they continue to use platforms with known security breaches that have affected billions of people.

Let’s look at the phone features you need to ensure you are protected from cybercrime and maintain your privacy.

Proprietary Private Server

Hackers know breaking encryption is nearly impossible, so they look for other ways to obtain your sensitive information. If a data thief can retrieve personal data from a server, they look for a back door into the system to bypass encryption.

Leading companies, like Myntex, develop a proprietary design to ensure sensitive information – such as contacts, notes, emails and encrypted messages – isn’t stored on their server. Additionally, having ownership of their on-site custom data centre gives them full control over the security, maintenance and operational protocols, eliminating any risks from third-party outsourced server hosting.

A Suite of Security Features

The most secure phones on the market today use a suite of secondary security features to protect users’ privacy, even if they become physically separated from their devices. A notebook lock screen with two-factor authentication secured by a custom pin goes above and beyond the competition.

A tamper-proof feature to let users create a duress password is essential if the phone falls into the wrong hands, automatically wiping the phone if someone enters the wrong password too many times. This remote wipe feature ensures a user’s data is never at risk, even if the phone is misplaced or stolen. Users can even cancel their accounts remotely via the reseller portal.

The self-destruct feature gives users tight control over messages and pictures. Settings can be programmed to self-destruct ahead of the scheduled time; 7 days unless they are favourited for 30 days.  Self-destruction can be set to as little as one minute or up to 99-minutes, and the message or picture cannot be saved or forwarded. It will self-destruct on both phones regardless of whether it has been made a favourite, even without a data connection.

Easy to Use

Most people are not tech experts who understand the ins and outs of encryption and hacking. They simply want the convenience afforded by a cellphone without worrying about hackers and identity theft.

Choose a platform with secure productivity features so you won’t need to use third-party apps: encrypted calling with one-touch access to your contacts, groups, pictures, voice and text messages.

Military-Grade Encryption

Remember, not all “end-to-end encryption” is equal. The best platforms have military-grade encryption, with AES-256 being the strongest. A truly secure protocol will be layered with other types of encryption and paired with hardened safety features on the device itself.

The world of digital technology is wonderful, but the hazards posed by bad actors are serious. You don’t have to be a high-profile politician or business leader to be targeted. Everyone has sensitive personal information that is lucrative on the dark web. Use your phone wisely and choose one with the above features to keep your data secure and confidential.
