I personally like all the M series Audio-Technica Headphones and use ATH-M50X for recording purposes. Audio-Technica have surprised me by introducing their new flagship M-series; ATH M70X. This new ATH M70X was spotted at the NAMM Show 2015, Anaheim. Under the M series, this is another flagship monitoring headphones by Audio-Technica. This Premium headphone series are designed accurately by adjusting the extreme low and high frequency and have also maintained perfect balance to provide an exceptional clarity to give every detail and more natural sound quality. ATH-m70x-Side This headphone is featured with 45 mm large-aperture drivers and rare earth magnets and with copper-clad aluminum wire voice coil. It is tuned to get most accurate low and high frequency that is from 5 to 40,000 Hz. They know that people are looking forward for quality sound and comfortable monitoring headphones; hence it has a 90-degree Swiveling Ear Cups so that you can comfortably do a long session recording. It has 2,000 mW maximum power input, which will give no distortion even at the high volume. This has the same portable cable as in the other X series headphones. They will give 3 changeable cables with this headphone. First s the coiled 1.2 m and 3.0 m cable and then a 3.0m long and 1.2 m short straight cable. This headphone will soon be available within this month. Initially it will release in the U.S for $419 and later we can expect the shipment to be made in the first week of January. If you’re picking this one up as Studio Monitoring Headphones, you shouldn’t be disappointed at all. These should perform way better than the M50 & even the M60. Let’s see how much that difference is & if it’s worth the extra money, when get our hands on the device,
