In our human body there are tons of biological mysteries that we don’t even think of most of the time. However, Dreams are into a complete different league. Dreams can be a representation of our deepest desires, creativity, recognized or unrecognized fears & even more. However, researchers at MIT Developed Dormio Lets You Interact With Your Dreams. So, according to them, human creativity can be augmented by capturing, extending & influencing to be usable in the future.  MTT

It takes place in the form of Hypnagogia, which a semi-lucid sleep state where humans begin dreaming falling fully unconscious. The Hypnagogia state can be characterized by phenomenological unpredictability, distorted perception of space and time, loss of sense of self, and spontaneous fluid idea association.

Science brains like Edison, Tesla, Poe, and Dalí,  accessed this state by napping with a steel ball in hand & captured creative ideas generated in Hypnagogic microdreams when the ball crashed to the floor below. With Dormio, the researchers were able to mordenize this technique, using a hand-worn sleep-stage tracking system, social robots’ unique interactive and embodied capabilities, and auditory feedback on sleep stage transitions.

So, how can Dormio be helpful ? Well, there are many creative ideas that might strike human brains during their dreams. For example, if you’re stuck with a problem or can’t figure out an idea, it might never strike your brain when you’re awake because, our attention entails filters and censors those certain creative ideas which our consciousness deems too atypical. But in Hypnagogia state, where your brain is away from all the attentions, it might be able to figure out those problems or ideas.

According to the researchers, if dreams could be controlled, sleep would offer an opportunity for prompting divergent thought in the absence of directed attention and cognitive control.

So, when this technology goes mainstream, maybe in a few years, we will be able to interact with out dreams & exact the important ideas out of those dreams which might otherwise never be possible to figure out when we’re awake.
