ASUS ROG Chimera Is The World’s First Gaming Laptop With A 144 Hz G-Sync Display
Just a while ago we were talking about the recently announced Slim, Light & Powerful 2-in-1 Zenbooks that were focused mostly on productivity. Well, in the gaming segment, ASUS also showcased quite a few of their ROG laptops at IFA 2017.
The one that caught out eye the most was the ROG Chimera that’s rocking an Over-clockable CPU & a Full HD G-Sync Display with super high Refresh Rate.
The, ROG Chimera is a complete package focused on AAA gaming. Inside it rocks an Intel Core i7 7820HK CPU that can be overclocked upto 4.3 GHz right out of the box. As the GPU we have the Nvidia GTX 1080 that can get upto a solid 1974 Mhz clock speed. So, this is already a lot from a Gaming Laptop right ? But, these are actually not the Headling feature of this laptop. Where this thing shines a lot more is it’s Display.
The ROG Chimera houses a 1920 x 1080 G-Sync Panel that has a refresh rate of 144 Hz. This makes Chimera the Worlds First Gaming Laptop that has a 144 Hz Display. Previously, Gaming Laptops were available at a max refresh rate of 120 Hz. But, a 4K 60Hz panel option is also available on the Chimera with almost 100% NTSC Color Gamut.
However, the response time of this Display is 7ms. That’s ok but, not super awesome compared to the other capabilities of this incredible screen.
The RAM can go all the Way upto 64GB LPDDR4 runing at 2800 MHz & the Storage options go upto 512 GB PCIe Raid 0 SSD configurations along with upto 2 Terabytes of HDD storage. There is also Thunderbolt 3 support built in. And there is an 8 Cell 74 WHrs Battery Powering all of this.
Another worthy mention must be the Built-in Xbox Support right out of the box. So, you can play Xbox Games with the Xbox Wireless Controller that’ll probably come bundled with the device. As far the pricing goes, we don’t have any idea on that right now. But, it’s definitely going to cost a lot.
[Update: Display, Memory, Storage, Battery & few other Technical Informations were updated.]
