MWC 2017, Shanghai we have been seeing a lot of new innovation one of which was the new Wearable Snapdragon Wear 1200 processor and now VIVO takes my attention with their all new innovation of fingerprint scanner which is surprisingly under-display. Over here VIVO takes the lead with Apple, where Apple is still fighting to get their hand on the new innovation. This is Qualcomm’s new ultrasonic fingerprint solution integrated underneath the OLED displays which can work flawless even under the water.

Under Display Fingerprint sensor

This demo was placed in the older version of VIVO Xplay 6 with upgraded hardware that is Snapdragon 660. This was just a prototype by VIVO. This explain that the upcoming VIVO phones will come with on-screen fingerprint sensor  technology. What’s more surprising  was the smartphone to detect fingerprint on the back of the phone’s metallic body. This was demonstrated inside the water. This feature is really handy for those who like to click photos underwater.

We could see this feature son in the upcoming VIVO X9S & X9S Plus, which will be integrated with the Snapdragon 660 processor. They company claims that the new “Qualcomm Fingerprint Sensors for Glass and Metal” will start commercially in Q4, which will be integrated in devices that will power Snapdragon 660 & 630.

This new technology will surely bring down the price of the current smartphone.
