These Cities Will Get 5G In 2018

We reported previously that AT&T is going to be the first carrier to bring 5G networks into the US & they have announced that it is coming this year to three cities with more cities to be added soon.

According to AT&T, they’ll be offering 5G in Dallas, Atlanta & Waco by the end of this year. Their initial deployments this year, will be based on 3GPP standards & will operate over the mmWave spectrum. More spectrum bands will be supported in future.

AT&T Will Initially Provide 5G To These Cities In 2018

The statement also confirms that, AT&T will add 5G supported Smartphones under their network in early 2019 which means, manufacturers will launch their 5G smartphones as early as in the Q1 of 2019 & one of the smartphones might be even announced late this year.

So, by 2019 there should be a good variety of 5G smartphones and by 2020 5G should enter the mid range segment as well.
