Previously a massive leak came out indicating towards a storage double down for the variants of the OnePlus 6. So, instead of 64GB & 128GB storage options, there should be a 128GB variant & a 256GB variant. Well, that rumor has finally been confirmed by the CEO of OnePlus, Pete Lau in a post in the OnePlus Community Forum where he was talking how they are working on speed or to be specific, the performance of the device.
“To create this higher standard, we start with the best hardware: the
Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 845 paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Choosing the best hardware is the easy part, the real challenge is in making the best hardware perform in ways that adds value to the experience of the user.”
This confirms that the 8GB, 256GB variant exists which means the 6GB, 128GB variant also exists. With this double down in storage capacity, OnePlus is definitely looking forward to keep their devices in the flagship competition territory cause, Samsung & Apple both have a 256GB variant of their Flagship devices.
However, this also makes the price increase possibility a lot more stronger. So, expect increased prices compared to the variants of the OnePlus 5T.
