Samsung Has Started The Production Of 512GB eUFS Memory Chips For Smartphones !
2017 hasn’t ended yet & still flagships ship with 64GB Internal Storage as a standard. But, what is the highest available Internal Storage right now ? Well, right now the highest available Smartphone Internal storage option is 256 Gibabytes. But, that upper level will be rising in 2018 as Samsung has started the production of the first ever 512GB eUFS flash storage that will be used in some upcoming flagship smartphones pretty soon.
The production has already started so, Samsung may use it in the S9 & S9+ but, wachting Samsung doing stuff for years now, we think the chances are very less. Maybe Note 9 but, whatever phone it debuts with, Samsung is definitely setting new hights for the smartphone storage segment. And consider this, these new 512 Gig Memory Chips can store upto 130 4K Videos of 10 min Duration so, that’s a lot of storage space !
Jaesoo Han, Executive Vice President of Memory Sales & Marketing at Samsung Electronics said,
“The new Samsung 512GB eUFS provides the best embedded storage solution for next-generation premium smartphones by overcoming potential limitations in system performance that can occur with the use of micro SD card…
By assuring an early, stable supply of this advanced embedded storage, Samsung is taking a big step forward in contributing to timely launches of next-generation mobile devices by mobile manufacturers around the world.”
Now, as some of the specs UFS 3.0 were already leaked out, we are assuming that these new chips might be based on UFS 3.0 but, Samsung hasn’t unveiled the version of UFS they are using for these new eUFS Chips so, can’t confirm. But, if these are actually based on UFS 3.0, the Transfer Speeds will be comparable to some NVMe SSDs. So, hopes are high & we can’t wait to experience the upcoming phones equipped with these new Memory Chips.
