Sony Removed The 3.5mm Headphone Jack Mainly For Market Reasons

Sony has a huge reputation when it comes to Audio equipments. So, when they removed the 3.5mm Headphone Jack from the Xperia XZ2 series, everyone was surprised. Now, in an FAQ for the Xperia Blog, Sony gave an official statement about the reason behind why  Sony Removed The 3.5mm Headphone Jack. They said,

“This is part of the shift to our new Ambient Flow design language. In order to create the beautiful seamless design, our designers needed to remove the headphone jack. Plus, we’re aware of the major market trend toward wireless headphones over wired headphones.”

Now, that design part could have been done without Sony Removed The 3.5mm Headphone Jack as Samsung has shown that already in their Galaxy S9 & S9+. So, what remains is that market trend towards Wireless Headphones.

Now, that’s not surprising cause the statement is not false & also as Sony has a good range of wireless headphones, they’re in this trend too. But, we hope this brings the cost down for Wireless Headphones as otherwise, though the companies will benefit, the consumers will actually have to spend a lot more in Wireless Headphones compared to what they used to spend for Wired Headphones. In that case, people will have to carry USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapters everywhere to be able to use their wired headphones which is annoying to many.
