The Exynos 9810 was a huge leap over it’s predecessor when it came to raw CPU performance. It even pulled off better CPU performance compared to the Snapdragon 845 in benchmarks. However, there was one thing that left many users disappointed & it was the use of the 10nm Process Technology again. The Exynos 9820 Might Be Build On 7nm Process Technology.
Though, both the Snapdragon 845 & the Exynos 9810 were build on the second generation of the 10nm Process Technology & were significantly better than their predecessors, 7nm was definitely kept for an upcoming iteration of the SOCs. However, that wait probably comes to an end with the Snapdragon 855 that’s hopefully coming in the end of this year.
Samsung is not staying back either. A new leak shows that Samsung is already working on their upcoming Flagship SOC which will reportedly be called the Exynos 9820.

Now, as the Exynos 9820 will be there to compete the Snapdragon 855, it is pretty much confirmed that Samsung will be using the 7nm Process Technology in the 9820. This will result in two major improvements. One of them is increased raw CPU power & the other one is improved power efficiency compared the the current 2nd Gen 10nm ones.
Now, both the Snapdragon 855 & Exynos 9820 are strongly expected to be 5G supported. So, that 7nm Process Technology along with 5G Network (if available of course) should bring a huge improvement in terms of Battery Life.
Both of the Samsung & Qualcomm flagship SOCs are expected to be unveiled somewhere in late Q4 of 2018.
