OPPO R15 & R15 Plus are going to be the next big players from OPPO to compete into the Midrange Segment with some other decent options from their competitors. However, alongside knowing that it’s a mid range device, we didn’t have any idea about the actual hardware specs. Some people were claiming it to be powered by the Mediatek Helio P60 while others were hinting towards a Snapdragon 600 or 700 series SOC. Well, it turns out that both the Helio P60 in the regular R15 & a Snapdragon 660 (which belongs to the Snapdragon 600 series) in the R15 Plus (R15 Dream Edition).

According to this Weibo user, the main differences between the R15 & R15 Plus (Dream Edition) are the SOCs & the Battery capacity. So, while the R15 packs a Helio P60 & a 3450 mAh Battery, the R15 Plus packs a Snapdragon 660 with a smaller 3400 mAh Battery.
The other specifications may remain the same with upto 6GB RAM, upto 128 gigs of Internal Storage, a 16MP(Regular, f-1.7)+5MP(Depth Sensing, f-2.2) Dual Rear Camera setup (only for the regular R15) & a 20MP f-2.0 Selfie Shooter.

So, we guess that’s what the R15 & R15 Plus (R15 Dream Edition) are packing but, we would have really loved to see a Snapdragon 700 series SOC in the higher end variant. But, let’s see how it goes this time. The device is expected to come out within this month so, not a big wait for people in China of course.
Talking about availability outside China, we have absolutely no clue on that. However, if OPPO is planning to launch it outside China then, the Price will be a huge factor this time as devices like the OnePlus 6 are coming out in upcoming months which will offer the Snapdragon 845 in that mid-range price point.
