Dell XPS 15 Is Expected To Get 5K Display And GTX 1060 Refresh For 2018 !
The Dell XPS 15 is undoubtedly the most preferred Windows Laptop used by professionals. It has great performance & a beautiful Display. So, the 2017 model was quite impressive with the i7-7700, GTX 1050 Ti & quite color accurate Display options with upto 4K resolution. Now, a recent report suggests that Dell may actually ditch the 4K Screen for a a higher-res 5120 x 2880 i.e. a 5K Display in the 2018 variant of the XPS 15.
Alongside the 5K Panel there will also reportedly be a Full HD (1920 x 1080) & a QHD+ (3200 x 1800) Panel. We are expecting that the Color Accuracy will further improve on all of these panels.
There will be other big upgrades as well on the Hardware department. If you remember the 2017 is having the GTX 1050 Ti & the 2018 model will probably use the GTX 1060 instead. Now, it’ll probably be a Max-Q version as that’ll help to keep the device quiet & the heat in control.
The CPU will probably be the Hexacore i7-8700HQ (or 8750HQ if Intel wants to call it that). But, the point is, the XPS 15 9570 for 2018 will be crazy powerful from all aspects bringing enough power to professionals for things like Video Edits & 3D Rendering. And you may also be able to play some games on it.
However, we are a little bit worried about the Battery life in the 5K Model. Even if Dell uses a 99 Whrs Battery that’s the legal limit, it doesn’t seem that it can hold the battery pretty well. Maybe 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours but, that’s not pretty good for a professional laptop. So, for better Battery life you may need to select a lower res model if you prefer that. But overall, we are pretty exited for the new XPS 15.
