Snapdragon 670 Will Be Build On 10nm Process And Debut In Early 2018
The Snapdragon 660 was out just in a couple of months ago & there are only few Devices running on that SOCs right now. Now a new leak claims that, the 10nm Snapdragon 670 may debut in early 2018 & this is the SOC that’ll introduce the 10nm Process Technology in the mid range segment.
The Snapdragon 670 is expected to offer great performance while keeping the pricing of the devices quite low compared to the flagships. Actually, the performance is expected to be 20% higher than the Snapdragon 820. Qualcomm claims on their website that the Snapdragon 821 has 10% performance increase over the 820 so, in theory the Snapdragon 670 shall be 10% more powerful compared to the Snapdragon 821 as well. Though these are just speculations and we need to wait for the official announcements to confirm that.
The configuration however will be an Octacore one based on Dual Clusters of Two Hi-power & Six Low-power cores. the High power cores are expected to be Kryo 360 cores that may also debut with the Snapdragon 670. The Six Low-power cores are also going to be Kryo type but, the exact variant still remains as a question mark.
The Snapdragon 670 is expected to be in production from Q1 of 2018. However, it’s possible that smartphones equipped that SOC may also come out around the same time span. So with no surprise, in 2018 it will not be mandatory anymore to pay a huge amount of money, for getting top notch performance. The upcoming Flagship grade processors however will be focused on even greater capabilities like AI, AR, VR & MR.
