Honor 7x
Buy Honor 7 X
The Honor 7x is one of the Best options in that 10-15K price segment. It comes packed with Good Cameras & Good Battery Life. These are the two things people look after within that 15K segment & Honor 7x does it pretty well. I’m talking about the 4GB, 32GB Model however that costs around 12999 & in my personal option, there is absolutely no reason to spend 15999 for the 64GB variant.
Talking about the Specifications, we have a 5.9 inch 2160×1080 (18:9) IPS Display, the 16nm Kirin 659, 4 Gigabytes of RAM, 32 Gigabytes of Internal Storage, 16+2 Megapixel Rear Cameras, an 8 Megapixel Front Camera & a 3340 mAh Battery.
A disadvantage of this device is the lack of 4K Video Recording as the Kirin 659 does not come with the hardware support for 4K Video. So, if you want to shoot 4K Videos, the Honor 7x isn’t the device you want to choose.
Moto G5 Plus
Buy Moto G5 Plus
The Moto G5 Plus currently costs around 13999 for the 4GB, 32GB Model. The strong point of suggesting this phone is the Rear Camera. It has a 12MP Camera on the Back that has an aperture of f-1.7 that makes it a real good photography tool in low-light scenarios. The Battery Life is also decent on this device so, it also matches the criteria users generally look for at this price point.
Talking about the Specifications, we have a 5.2 inch 1920×1080 (16:9) IPS Display, the 14nm Snapdragon 625, 4 Gigabytes of RAM, 32 Gigabytes of Internal Storage, 12 Megapixel f-1.7 Rear Camera, a 5 Megapixel Front Camera & a 3000 mAh Battery.
The disadvantages of this device lies in the Selfie Camera & the Color Science. The 5MP Selfie Camera is not that good & the Color Science of Motorola was never great. So, you may need to edit your photos more frequently before posting them on Instagram or any other Social Media platform. So, before considering this device you need to keep these things in mind.
Honor 9 Lite
The Honor 9 Lite does almost all the things that the 7x Does & it comes at a starting price of 10999 for the 3GB, 32GB variant. The 4GB, 64GB variant costs 14999 so, again I prefer the 10999 model a lot more. It actually has an extra Camera on the Front so Two on the Back & Two on the Front makes total 4 Cameras on the device. This will allow Portrait shots for both Selfies & general Photos. However, the Cameras on the 7x are slightly better which is expected for the higher price point but, it’s not a huge deal.
Talking about the Specifications, we have a 5.65 inch 2160×1080 (18:9) IPS Display, the 16 nm Kirin 659, 3 Gigabytes of RAM, 32 Gigabytes of Internal Storage, 13+2 Megapixel Rear Cameras, 13+2 Megapixel Front Cameras & a 3000 mAh Battery. It also comes with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box which is a plus at this point for a budget device.
The weakness of the device is again no 4K Video Recording as both the Honor 9 Lite & Honor 7x are using the Kirin 659 which again doesn’t come with 4K Video Support just like the last gen Kirin 655.
Xiaomi Mi A1
Buy Xiaomi Mi A1
The Mi A1 is the only deice in the list to run almost Pure Stock Android out of the Box & that’s because it’s one of the devices developed under Google’s Project of Android One. Alongside the Stock Android Experience, the Portrait mode on this device is probably the best within this price segment. So, for those people who like Stock Android or who take a lot of Portrait shots with the Rear Camera, the Mi A1 seems to be a good option.
Talking about specifications, it comes with a 5.5 inch 1920×1080 (16:9) IPS Display, the 14nm Snapdragon 625, 4 Gigabytes of RAM, 64 Gigabytes of Internal Memory, 12MP (Main) + 12MP (Telephoto) Rear Cameras, 5MP Front Camera & a 3080 mAh Battery. This device will also get timely software updates as a part of the Android One program & it ‘s already on Android Oreo.
The weakness is definitely the Low-light photos coming out of this device. They are kinda not so good type & can get a lot of noise depending on the lighting condition. Another issue that we recently faced was like a permanent burn mark on a particular area of the screen so, the Display is probably not so good by material quality.
ASUS Zenfone 3
Buy Zenfone 3
Many of you may actually get surprised by this entry & we’re talking about the 5.2 variant of the Zenfone 3 that sells around 11999 in India after the permanent Price Cut. The reason why we included this device in the list is the Build Quality & the Camera. So, the Zenfone 3 comes in a Glass Sandwich design that looks & feels premium & the Camera has OIS built in which makes the Zenfone 3 the only option in this price segment with an OIS.
Talking about specifications, it comes with a 5.5 inch 1920×1080 (16:9) IPS Display, the 14nm Snapdragon 625, 3 Gigabytes of RAM, 32 Gigabytes of Internal Memory, 16MP Rear Camera with OIS, 8MP Front Camera & a 2650 mAh Battery. The Device is currently on Android 7.0 Nougat & ASUS has confirmed that Android Oreo is coming.
The disadvantage is that, the OIS doesn’t work while recording 4K Videos & the EIS isn’t pretty good at stabilizing 4K Videos. Also, The phone stated at Android Marshmallow, got Nougat & now it’ll be getting Oreo so, maybe there will not be many updates in the Future so, that should be remembered before making a purchase decision for this device.
Honorable Mentions
There are some devices that belong an honorable mention in our list. They didn’t make it to the main list as to enter that list, the hardware needs to be quite balanced & the device has do perform decently in all the major segments but, this list consists the phones good at a particular segment in which they perform very well.

If you’re into Dual Cameras the Lenovo K8 Plus is a good device that costs 9999 INR. There is a 13MP Main Sensor alongside a 5MP Sensor that is used to mesure the depth (distance) of the Subject & the Background to create that shallow depth-of-feild effect. So, decent Bokeh shots are a thing with this 10K device.
