Samsung’s new Exynos 9810 is the SOC that’ll be at the heart of the Galaxy S9, S9+ & even the Galaxy Note 9 that’ll come out in late 2018. Though, not in the US of course as there the Snapdragon 845 will take it’s place. Samsung announced the SOC in late 2017 but, finally they have made the specifications public & we thought that this is the right time to make this article. So, let’s get into it !

The Exynos 9810 is quite a bit like the Snapdragon 845 in many features but, there are a few differences. First are the Boost Clocks. The Exynos 9810 has 0.1 GHz Faster Clocks compared to the Snapdragon 845.

Another thing is 4K Video. The Exynos 9810 can record & play 4K Videos upto 120 FPS while the Snapdragon 845 can do 4K at only 60 FPS. However, as the Galaxy S9 & S9+ have variants with both of the SOCs, we’re not sure if Samsung will enable 120 FPS slow motion in the Exynos 9810 variants.

The Biggest Highlight however is the Depth Sensing capability that will be used for 3D Facial Recognition stuff. So, last year Samsung was using 2D Facial Recognition that was straight up terrible, but with the introduction of Apple’s FaceID, Samsung has to compete in Face Unlock. So, to bring on those improvements, Samsung has included these capabilities.

Just like every other latest Flagship SOC, the Exynos 9810 also comes with AI capabilities. So, the Galaxy S9 & S9+ shall be really smart & as Samsung is focusing on Bixby right now, there is no doubt that they’ll try to improve Bixby on this new 9810 platform but, we’ll have to wait till the devices come out to figure out how well, it goes.

The LTE speeds are similar as well. The Download speeds are around 1.2 Gbps that is the same as the Snapdragon 845. However the Upload speeds are around 200 Mbps that is 50 Mbps Faster compared to the 150 Mbps Upload speeds on the Snapdragon 845.

The 2nd Gen 10nm Process has Higher Performance with improved Power Efficiency. The Exynos 9810’s CPU cores are around 2 times Faster in Single Core & 40% Faster in Multicore compared to the last gen Exynos 8895. The Mali-G72 MP18 is also around 20% more Powerful compared to it’s predecessor.

On security part, the Exynos 9810 also has a few Security enhancements in sections including Payment methods, Biometric Authentications & more. And that’s kinda it. Most of the other features are pretty much identical to the Snapdragon 845 as basically they are both Made by Samsung.

If you have any questions, let us know in the comments section below. In case you want to know more about the Snapdragon 845, then we have an article on that as well. I’m leaving that article below.
