The Huawei P20 series is coming on March 27th with three variants including the Huawei P20, P20 Pro & P20 Lite. Previously Huawei came up with a 256GB variant of the Mate 10 Porsche Edition which was the highest quantity of Internal Storage in any Huawei Smartphone till date. This time Huawei is expected to double down that quantity with the Huawei P20 Pro (probably in that gradient edition).
As you can see in the Tenaa listing above (translated from Chinese), you can see that a device called the NEO-AL00 from Huawei (which we are expecting to be the Huawei P20 Pro), was issued on 12 February of this year & on 19th March there was an addition of a 6GB RAM, 512GB ROM storage variant.
So, maybe Huawei will ditch the 64GB variant of the P20 Pro & bring a 128GB variant & a 256GB variant as the regular line products & a 512GB Special Edition variant. If this is true, then Huawei will be the first brand to introduce 512GB Storage in a Smartphone after ASUS introduced 256GB in their Zenfone 3 Deluxe in 2016.
Also if you remember, in December of last year we reported that Samsung has started mass production of 512GB Storage units for Smartphones so, it’s definitely possible that Huawei is using those chips in their P20 Pro. However, the price will definitely be way too high for this variant & as far our expectations go, it might come at a price point of $1499 in the US.
